Cute Holiday Treats: Reindeer Cupcakes

By Christel M. Hoydic December 14, 2014
Seriously cute and seriously delicious, these Reindeer Cupcakes will be the life of the party, no matter the age of your guests. The best part is that these are yet another way to make some magical moments with your family this holiday season as they are easy to create and offer lots of flexibility in the ingredients.

Ingredients:
  • Chocolate Cake Mix (or your favorite cake flavor) and the ingredients called for on the back of the box
  • Chocolate frosting
  • Black gel writing icing (sold in the baking aisle)
  • Pretzels
  • Vanilla wafers
  • M&Ms (brown, red and white - The white are for the eyes, so feel free to substitute other items like mini-marshmallows or even green or blue M&Ms!)
Directions:
  1. Bake the cupcakes according to the directions on the box.
  2. Let cupcakes cool completely, then frost with the chocolate frosting.
  3. Place a vanilla wafer on each cupcake. Then use the writing gel as “glue” to stick either a brown or red M&M on the vanilla wafer for the nose. (Create eight brown-nosed reindeer for Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Donner and Blitzen and a red-nosed reindeer for the infamous Rudolph!)
  4. Add two pretzels for antlers and M&Ms for eyes. Use the writing gel to dot the “eyes.”
Enjoy!
