My 7 year old was interested immediately with this new type of toy. Since he loves things that involve a phone, he was hooked. We opened the package and my 3 year old grabbed one Stikbot while the 7 year old played with the other one. I went ahead and installed the free app on my phone while they played pretend robots. It was easy to install the app and get started. We recorded a few shots and pictures and made a funny short film with my toddler talking in the background. It was fun to add the music and mess around with the app. Even though my toddler doesn’t get how to work the app, he still enjoyed playing with the Stickbots. The tripod that came with the set is actually useful for me as well. I will use it to make more Macaroni Kid videos!
Since this toy is only about $10, it would make a great stocking stuffer, gift for a classmate, or gift for a classroom exchange. It would appeal to both genders because it uses creativity to make movies and photos. Children’s imaginations are captivated with this type of toy.
The StikBot Studio (2 Stikbots with a tripod) is available at Walmart, Target, Toys R Us and Amazon.com for $9.99. The Stikbot Single Pack is available for $4.99 each.
From the Stikbot Company:
This is the Stikbot from Zing, (one of) the first social media sharing toy! These easy-to-pose figurines with strong suction cup hands and feet can stick to almost any flat surface. With the free mobile app, Stikbot Studios, kids can shoot their own stop-motion movies starring Stikbot. The app snaps individual photos and stitches them together into a film. Everywhere becomes a stage -- the kitchen, the living room, and the school bus.
What's different about this toy? Social media is where today’s “conversations” are happening, everyone can share their StikBot movies on social media with the hashtag #StikBot and see what other kids are creating all over the world!
Don’t forget to submit your video to join the Stikbot video contest with ultimate $20K cash award!
