Tippecanoe Youth Choir Registration Now Open
Registration for the Fall Session of the Tippecanoe Youth Choir (TYC) is open but closes soon! This community ensemble consists of three separate choirs for elementary, middle, and high-school-aged singers. TYC aims to foster a love of quality choral music, provide training through proven vocal technique, and promote the joy of ensemble performance.
TYC is open to singers in grades 3-12. No audition is required, and no prior music or choral experience is necessary.
Founded in 2021, TYC is directed by twin sisters Amy Weaver and Wendy McNiven. Both Wendy and Amy have over 25 years of performance, teaching, and choral directing experience.
The choir offers two sessions during the school year. Fall (October-December 8) and Winter (January-March 9). During each session, the individual choirs meet once a week for an hour-long rehearsal. Each weekly rehearsal is purposeful, engaging, and rewarding as the singers develop musical skills and learn a variety of repertoire together. This mindful, focused preparation results in a stirring Christmas Concert-an enjoyable way to celebrate the season!
The benefits of choral singing are plentiful. Forming friendships, belonging to a group, making music, seeing practice results, and gaining performance experience are just a few of the many positives that come from participating in a choir. Consider joining TYC!
