Join us for a summer filled with creativity, exploration, and fun! Each week brings a new theme packed with exciting projects and hands-on creative experiences. As always, our camps are rooted in process art, encouraging young artists to experiment, explore, and create in their own unique way!

Animate + Create Summer Camp 🎬✨
Calling all young creators! Animate + Create is the ultimate summer camp for aspiring animators and storytellers. Based on our popular teen animation course, this camp dives into the exciting world of animation, character design, and digital storytelling. Whether your artist is new to animation or looking to refine their skills, this hands-on camp will help them bring their ideas to life!
Camp Details:
📅 Dates: June 9th - June 13th, 2025
🕙 Time: 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM (Monday – Friday)
🎨 Ages: 11-15 years old
🎟 Flexible Enrollment: Pick and choose your dates, but we highly encourage full-week enrollment so artists can build on concepts and techniques each day!
🥪 What to Bring: A packed lunch and refillable water bottle
🎨 Materials Provided, but artists are welcome to bring their favorite animation tools (iPads, styluses, sketchbooks, etc.) to practice with and learn on!
🌞 Outdoor Fun! Weather permitting, lunchtime will include activities like sidewalk chalk, bubbles, a short walk, or free play in the community garden. Sunblock, hats, or sunglasses are encouraged!
What They’ll Explore:
🎥 Monday – The Art of Animation
- Learn the basics of frame-by-frame animation and stop motion.
- Create a flipbook to understand motion and storytelling.
🖌 Tuesday – Character Design & World-Building
- Develop original characters with expressive movement and personality.
- Sketch out a mini storyboard to plan an animated short.
📽 Wednesday – Bringing Characters to Life
- Experiment with digital and traditional animation techniques.
- Animate a simple looping movement (like a bouncing ball or waving hand).
🎞 Thursday – Sound & Special Effects
- Explore how music and sound effects enhance animation.
- Add motion graphics and details to their projects.
🌟 Friday – Showcase & Mini Film Festival!
- Finalize their short animation projects.
- Celebrate with a camp showcase where artists share their work!
Important Details:
✅ Drop-off camp: Check-in/out within 5 minutes of start and end times.
✅ Ages: 11-15 years old.
✅ Schedule: Pick and choose your dates, but full-week enrollment is encouraged to build on skills!
✅ What to Bring: A packed lunch, refillable water bottle, and optional personal animation tools (iPads, styluses, sketchbooks, etc.)
While artists are welcome to attend single days, we encourage joining us for the
full week to experience the complete animation process from start to finish!
