Join us for a fun, family-friendly celebration while helping to fight hunger in our community. Come down to Riehle Plaza at 1:00 o’clock. Get your face painted. Hang with Purdue Pete. Pose for a photo with one of our costumed princesses. Be wowed by some incredible street magic. Take a ride on the Boilermaker Special. Get a massage. Snack on free hot dogs and watermelon. Listen to great music. Have fun! At 2:00, we’ll go on a short, 1.5K, hike around Tapawingo Park. Stop along the way to witness an amazing trick from magician Scott Starkey, grab a popsicle, get a hands-on look at the Purdue Crew Team’s boats, or listen to some wonderful music from singer Sharon McKnight. And if you’re not tired of walking, we’ve got an optional 4.25K route for those extra steps. Then at 3:00 we’ll be back at Riehle Plaza for a drawing where you could win an Arni’s gift certificate. And, win or lose, you can always enjoy more free hot dogs and watermelon. Donations are welcome but not required. All Hunger Hike proceeds directly support the food and hunger programs at Lafayette Urban Ministry, Food Finders Food Bank, and St. Thomas Aquinas’ Haiti Ministry.
